Protective films (translucent films, matted, decorative films) are used to make the film look visually more appealing as an anti-glare and for visibility protection. The light streaming in is scattered through the film (translucent film), thus reducing the penetrating sunlight and disturbing glare effects. Protective films also offer protection from shattering of glass since the splinters attach themselves to to the film when the glass breaks. This type of film is often used for toilet and bathroom windows,
in clinics and meeting rooms, for windows on the ground floor, etc. as visibility protection.
However, they can also be used as decorative films to enhance the appearance of glass surfaces (e.g. windows, desks with glass tops, glass shelves, counters, etc.).
This type of film can also be stuck on parts of the surface. Protective film is available in different colours (e.g. white matt, grey matt, silver matt).
